Florida State AED Laws
Summary of Requirements
Physicians are not subject to specific legislation. However, it is encouraged for all AED users to receive training in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) or basic first aid, including CPR training and AED proficiency. Possessors of AEDs are also encouraged to register their AEDs with the local emergency medical services medical director. AEDs must be properly maintained and tested regularly, and anyone using an AED should activate the emergency medical services system immediately upon use.

EMS Notification | Any person or entity in possession of an automated external defibrillator is encouraged to notify register with the local emergency medical services medical director of the existence and location of the automated external defibrillator. |
