MI Comp Laws § 380.1170a 2017 By the 2017-2018 school year, the department shall ensure that the model core academic curriculum content standards for health education and the subject area content expectations and guidelines for health education under section 1278a provide instruction in cardiopulmonary resuscitation and automated external defibrillators for pupils enrolled in grades 7 to 12.
MI Comp Laws § 29.19 2015 Outlines instructions to ensure the public health and safety for AEDs in schools.
HB 4436 2009 A bill stipulating that if additional funds are available in the budget,
that automated external defibrillator grants, EMT training and support,
be provided.
HB 4446 2009 A bill stating that state parks shall have an appropriate number of AEDs available and that donations of AED can be accepted.
MI Comp Laws § 333.26311 2006 Defines: AED, Department, Person, and Health Club.
MI Comp Laws § 333.26312 2006 Outlines AED requirements for health clubs.
MI Comp Laws § 333.26313 2006 A person, including, but not limited to, a health club owner, operator, or employee, does not have a duty to render emergency service to an individual using an AED that a health club has on the premises.
SB 1274 2007 An Act that requires the life support vehicles that are dispatched to
provide medical first response life support, basic life support, or
limited advanced life support be equipped with an AED and that emergency
services personnel be trained in the operation of the AED.
SB 1095 2007 A bill providing grants for schools to purchase automated external defibrillators.

HR 0330 2002 A resolution urging the Department of Community Health to start a public information campaign about the importance of AEDs.
