Vermont State AED Laws

There is currently no legislation requiring physician involvement or specific CPR/AED training. However, individuals who own or lease an AED must notify the department and their regional ambulance service or first responder service of the device's existence, location, and type. They must also maintain and test the AED according to the manufacturer's standards and ensure that emergency personnel are summoned by calling 911 when using the device.

VT Stat 18 V.S.A. § 907 - 2009 Provides Good Samaritan protection for use of an AED and establishes guidelines for AED programs.
